You and I need to connect. I have a lot of hands-on experience and skills in helping others with problem solving, goal setting and increasing self-esteem by reclaiming their sense of value. I've lived with a brain injured adult and have worked with well over 200 clients with acquired brain injury, so I sincerely feel I've been exposed to most challenges this injury can bring. I understand how it changes cognitive functioning, confidence, relationships and employment on a short and/or long term-basis. Many of my clients experience positive change quickly and it's very exciting!
I can assist with problem solving and goal setting in the following areas: medical needs, physical wellness, cognitive and psychosocial functioning, community living skills and return to work planning. I've worked on teams that include neuropsychologists, psychologists, kinesiologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. I can help you consult and strategize with community service providers to gain access to the best services and resource exposure possible. I have many contacts we can work with to ensure you get the help you need to best cope with the challenges brain injury can bring.
I will assist you with becoming more successful in supporting the brain injured person in your life. As a caregiver, you will also improve by learning how to meet more of your own needs and increase your productivity. Why not work in partnership with someone who can empathize, share experiences, survival strategies and help you to create your own survival plan? It's critical. My motto is: "Maintain your identity to keep your sanity."
You can help individuals to overcome challenges and/or further their rehabilitation by providing approval for coaching services. Insurance companies, employers that offer an Employee and Family Assistance Program as well as other community programs that provide funding for social services are offering individuals in need a great service by approving coaching for youth and adults. I can provide a tailored service that fills a large gap by offering hands-on support that other professionals do not. Formal reports are provided if required.
I've consulted and coached well over 100 employers in most blue and white collar industries operating in Central and Southern Alberta. These employers have reported a workplace accident resulting in a brain injured employee. I offer education and support to employers and colleagues in order to assist in facilitating the most successful return to work possible for an injured worker.
